Your privacy is important
Personal data collected by Alison Gough Yoga (AGY)
A certain amount of personal data is collected by AGY when you book a class/event and/or when you attend class/event run directly by AGY*. This is for your health and safety during yoga classes and for insurance purposes. If you opt in, your contact information will also be used to keep you up to date to future AGY classes and events. Health information is also used to tailor sessions to suit your individual needs. All information gathered by AGY either on paper or electronically is treated as confidential and will not be shared with a third party, unless in the circumstances outlined below. If you wish to alter any of your data, review how it is used or wish to request its return to you, please contact me on alisongoughyoga@gmail.com or 07814865998. You may of course decline to submit personally identifiable information, in which case AGY may not be able to provide certain services to you.
How AGY uses your contact information
Where you opt in, your contact information may be used to update you about future AGY classes and events and/or to let you know about any unfortunate last minute changes to/cancellation of classes/events run directly by AGY*. You may of course decline to submit your email and/or phone number to AGY for these purposes, which may mean that AGY is not be able to provide certain services to you and will not be able to contact you about any last minute changes/cancellations.
Emergency Contact information is collected solely for use in an emergency, should I need to contact your next of kin or share this information to the emergency services in the case of an emergency. You are of course able to decline to provide emergency contact information.
Sharing of information
In addition to the above, your personal information may be shared with certain third parties including: with external agencies and organisations (including the police and other law enforcement agencies) investigating suspected illegal activities; my insurers and brokers in the event that a claim has been or could be made against me; if I am under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with any legal or regulatory obligation; to protect my rights, property or safety or those of my customers or other third parties.
How your personal information is kept safe
AGY takes reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your personal and sensitive information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction taking into account the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the information.
For how long does AGY keep your information
AGY will keep your personal information for as long as is necessary given the purposes for which it is collected and use that information. AGY may also retain and use your information in order to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. If AGY collected your personal information in order to perform a service or performance of a contract, it will be kept for seven years from the date of the last service you requested or booked with AGY.

*For the avoidance of doubt, the content of this notice only applies to classes/workshops/events run directly by AGY. Classes/workshops/events taught by AGY but organised by a yoga studio or venue will be subject to that studio's privacy notice. Please contact the relevant studio directly for more information.
